Spica Casts Are Not Uncommon

Well, I was talking with Travis, who owns SpicaCasts.com, only to find out that their daughter, Natalie, had a condition known as hip dysplasia. This is commonly referred to as DDH. If the condition is serious enough, it is commonly corrected with surgery and the use of a spica cast which holds the hips into place while the muscles reform.
Natalie spent about 3 months in her spica cast and now wears a brace at night. She has undergone over a year of treatment and some is still required.
They just want to share their experiences with other parents who may be in the same situation. Feel free to stroll on over if you have a child or know of a parent that has a child in a spica cast.
